The Swimmer or La Manche: The Sleeve
“A mere ditch that shall be leaped” (Napoleon) Just twenty-one miles. So near that on a clear day you can see the coast of France. Flash-back to a golden age of bathing and Channel Fever grips the nation. Our foolhardy romantic steps out from her bathing hut to join the Channel swimmers. Dollops of goose fat and a glint of foolhardy eccentricity so will ll it go swimmingly or will the tide turn on fortune? Expect one woman, witty physical theatre and an inventive use of props all from the depths of a mobile modesty hut.
